A few years ago, I was working for a non-profit that specialized in connecting volunteers to other non-profits.
People willing to donate their time and energy could register their skills and interests, and the organization would connect them to a partner that matched their profile - for free!
As with many non-profits, fundraising was a challenge. Volunteers we matched with a partner went on to do great work there, but beyond the number of days they had committed, we had little to show for. All the impact that would usually make people consider donating happened at partner organizations.
One day, I stumbled over an ABC News article visualizing a round of "tax cuts [...] set to reshape Australia’s budget". I figured this would be a great way of illustrating the scale of support we were enabling through our matching service and it prompted the below page.
